About Artworks

We are a volunteer-run not for profit CIC. Our aim is to help improve the mental health and wellbeing of people in Furness. Our emphasis is on those who are economically, socially or culturally deprived. We engage with people suffering from mental ill health, isolation and loneliness by running:
  • Workshops in the community

  • Requested sessions for charities and groups

  • Painting murals for community groups (who couldn’t afford one otherwise)

  • Art projects that reach a wide audience and a finale event for all

  • Running workshops at our base

All sessions we run we try to make as cheap and accessible as possible.

We currently rely on grants to fund our bigger projects, we run two a year. Our previous projects have demonstrated a strong engagement with a broad range of our community, on average 950 people.

Past projects include:
What the Flock?, Art in the Park, Return to Sender, Disco Ball Fest, Turning the Tide and Dock Art & Demonstrations, and Barrow Trumps.

ArtWorks Art4All History

We started as 3 volunteers during the first lockdown in 2020. The first event we ran was HeArts 4 All, an auction of donated artwork, to help raise funds for Dalton Leisure Centre (we raised £8500.) We then held two auctions that raised £14,000 for SAFA.

What started with 3 volunteers grew to 6 and in 2022 we became a constituted group. By February 2024, we had transformed into a CIC with 13 volunteers. Their dedication and hard work are crucial to our efforts!

Who we have worked with

We have worked with so many amazing people, community groups, schools, charities and not for profit groups. We have worked with Kendal Unity, Barrow Unity, Barrow Pride, Barrow BID, Women’s Community Matters, Furness Multicultural Community Forum and many more……
